The University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria was founded in 1989 and has a wide range of degrees in all major areas of knowledge, with the aim of offering comprehensive training to around 20,000 students, in a bet based on innovation , quality and internationalization.
The ULPGC has six Campus, three of which are located in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria; one in the municipality of Arucas (Gran Canaria) and two others in the islands of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.
The ULPGC has more than 1,500 professors who carry out an important research activity, which has led the ULPGC to have obtained the consideration of Campus of International Excellence in the marine-maritime area.
The ULPGC has opted for the creation of Science and Technology Parks (PCT) to boost the transfer of R & D & I results to the surrounding society, as well as to serve as the basis for the creation of technology-based companies.
Juan Carlos Rodríguez del Pino
Juan Carlos Rodríguez del Pino is an associate professor of Computer Science (tenured) and expertise on research and development of tools for e learning and computational linguistics. These tools include Moodle plugins and web applications. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, C, C++, Java, JavaScript, PHP and more programming languages.
Teaching expertise includes both introductory programming courses using Java and non-introductory courses about web programming, algorithmic, programming methodology, etc.
Zenón Hernández Figueroa
Zenón Hernández Figueroa is an associate professor of Computer Science (tenured) and expertiseon research and development of tools for computational linguistics and e-learning. These tools include ASP.NET web applications, soap & JSON web services and iOS applications. Knowledge of html, CSS, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, PHP, SQL, Objective-C, Swift and more. Also, expertise on university management.
Teaching expertise includes both introductory programming courses using Java and Python as non-introductory courses about web programming and iOS programming.
