ITvNitre 2021: High School Students Competed in Programming

A programming competition ITvNitre for IT high school students took place on 22 April 2021 for the second time at the Department of Informatics, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra. The competition took place online. The competition was organized for all students who love programming and are skilled in writing programs in Python or C programming languages.
The competition complements the range of programming competitions in Slovakia, intending to appeal to as many students as possible. Simple rules of the competition were adapted to this. The competition was organized as a one-day event. The platform PRISCILLA was used the first time as a competitive platform. It allowed immediate evaluation of the results. Competitors solve ten algorithm tasks within the time limit of 90 minutes. The final grades did not consider only the accuracy of the solutions, but they also depended on the speed of the solution.
The organizers were pleased with the interest of students from all regions of Slovakia. The competition was attended by 87 students from 14 schools from Bratislava, Trnava, Hlohovec, Nitra, Vráble, Levice, Prievidza, Zvolen, Rožňava and Košice. Thirty-two competitors received the diploma of a successful solver of the competition.
